Her resemblance to the reigning Queen of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif, made more news than Zarine Khan's debut at the BO that was the disaster called" Veer".
But its leading lady is quick to fly to the film's defense: "It's wrong to declare the film as a BO disaster, it went down quite well with some audiences," she responds, adding, "I do not regret being part of "Veer". It was the best thing to happen to a newcomer like me."
She also does not wince at the mention of comparisons with Katrina. Instead, she takes them as compliments. "Katrina is a beautiful and talented actress. Her career is going great guns and I feel proud to be compared with her. I take it very positively," says Zarine who was in Varanasi recently to inaugurate a showroom.
So, would starring in the same film as Kat be a good career move? "I would not mind playing Katrina's sister in a film," she retorts. Quite a little ray of sunshine, our Zarine.

And as she insists on retaining that positive frame of mind, we attempt to burst the bubble.
Look-alikes have hardly made waves in the film industry, we point out, reminding her of Sneha Ullal, who was said to resemble Aishwarya Rai. And her own resemblance to Katrina is pretty evident. "There have always been comparisons. Madhuri Dixit was compared to Madhubala, even Amrita Singh was considered to be the new age Nadia but see how their careers shaped up." Zarine points out. "So, all depends on hard work and the kind of roles one chooses," comes a piece of advise from the newcomer. Clearly, it would take much more than a flop debut for Zarine to see the other side.
